Installing Plugin?

Hello all,

I'm very new at Linux. 3 days! I'm a fan of Adventure games so I think Linux is going to be akin to the "marble puzzle".

I tried Suse firsts and messed it up within an hour. It did not like my Asus 9600XT.

Now I'm trying Mandrakelinux 10.0. No problem with the install after 3rd attempt. Apparently the easiest way is to fdisk the hard drive for every install.

Now the fun begins. I want to install a plugin so my wife and kids can play games on Neopets. I followed the instructions from the readme file but can't get it to work. I figured out (I think) what they ment by "type into the the Command Line". What command line? Where is the command line?. Ok it's in the drop down menu.

So type in ./programname_intaller while in the files folder but all I get is an error message that saying it can't find host. So I try the manual install, "put these two files in the plugin folder". Where is the plugin folder for Konqueror? I found two folders for Netscape so I put them there. Nothing happens. Ok where Netscape? Can't find an exe. Ok down load Netscape. Here we go again!
I get the same error message.

What am I doing wrong?

Thank for your patience and help.

Ron

Hey, what plugin are you talking about?
In Mozilla I can watch if a plugin is correctly installed clickin on Help-> About plug-ins in the menu bar. I suppose it will work for Netscape. If the name of the plug-in doesn't appear you haven't installed it properly.
I install my plugins in /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins but some require to create a link (command ln -s ) instead of copy them to the directory. For example, java plug-in need to be created as link.
I hope it be useful!
