installing grub:(

i dont like grub at all ... but since im having problems installing it
in my AMD64 gentoo installation im going with grub.

Everything works out as it should until i hit the grub prompt

i execute the command grub:

and i try to define my boot partition
grub>root (hd0,0)

it wont even recognize the command, i tried to add /boot after the root (hd0,0)
didnt make any difference tho..

i also tried to change hd0,0 into sd0,0 as i use s-ata disks.
didnt work that either.

i need some help here please!
