Hey, Im running Mandrake 9.1 and trying to install, "Gaim." I start to install it and get an error telling me I need to install Glib version 2.0 or higher. So... I downloaded Glib, and it says I need to install pkg-config, I download it and install it, then go back to Glib. I get this..

"checking for pkg-config... no
configure: error: *** pkg-config not found. See http://www.freedesktop.org/software/pkgconfig/"

I insall pkg-config again, then back to Glib... Same error. What am I doing wrong?

Please help, If I left anything out, please speak up and i'll tell you.

you presumably didn't install *any* developement packages. either try to get an rpm from fr2.rpmfind.net or gaim.sf.net or install pkgconfig and all the blah-devel packages it will require in order to compile from source.
