installing antivirus and anti spyware

hi to all. .. i just want to be well informed about installing an antivirus and anti spyware in linux. . .do i REALLY have to install those? if yes, what names of antivirus and anti spyware are good? BTW i am using slackware 10.2

Do a search for linux anti virus and anti spyware on these forums. There's quite a few threads from the last few weeks addressing these issues that should explain things a little better for you.
