Installed Limewire and need a little help

I have just installed Limewire on mepis 3.4 by download the .rpm file and then converting it to .deb using alien. I then installed the program using kpackage. The first time I loaded limewire it worked. However when I try starting the program again the screen freezes when limewire loads 'core components'. I can I stop this problem from happening?

id recommend getting rid of it and trying to install it from source, or from the proper package file (.deb?) without having to convert it.

also make sure you have proper prerequisites, ie proper jre version
