hey guys,
im no stranger to compiling kernels, ive suceeded may times, but
getting fedora core 1 to work with an aes encrypted home directory prooved
to hard to do on my own.
i found a guide to take a fresh install of fedora core 1.
and get it working, so i folled it. BUT the methods it use are completely different from
what im used to.
if i were doing this my way, i would install the kernel source, and apply the patch
then make xconfig to set it up (then the usual comile and install make rules)
but the normal patch isnt enough, theis guy released his own patch, but only
a patch that works on the kernel src.rpm file, i ive had compile from src.rpm
anyway.. my question.....
what config parameters will be ued to compile the rpm ?
the defaults in the /usr/src/linux-2.4/.config
OR
/boot/config-2.4
heres the guide i folled to get this working.
http://www.andrew.cmu.edu/user/qralston/dev/
i compiled the binary rpm by cd'ing into the SPEC directory, then rpmbuild -ba kernel.2.4.22.spec
can any1 shed some light on whats happening here ?
