install yahoo messenger with Wine ?


I downloaded the yahoo installer and runned it with "wine"...it downloaded the yahoo and installed it.. but i think it wont work...

anybody has installed yahoo messeger for windows, with wine in linux ?

because I need to do Voice Chat in Pulbic Chat rooms , and also I need to do Webcam.. and also I want to use Sleather option.

i thought yahoo had a client for linux? doesn't it have voice chat/web cam either? sorry, i don't know what sleather is, so can't help you there.

no the yahoo's cilent is so so simple it doenst have anything.
normaly Wine should do it...anybody has used wine to make YM work ?

thanks for that link, slackhack but that site is so confusing , I dont know what file I should download to have a Yahoo Chat with Voice chat and Webcam .

just reading through their forums, it looks like even though they claim to have voice chat, it doesn't really work well, if at all. i tried installing yahoo chat with wine, but it needs internet explorer and activeX, and i don't want to put those on my computer. gl

You could also try gyachi, which is an improved version of phrozensmoke's gyach:
