how to install yahoo messenger to mandrake?

Is the a linux version of the yahoo messenger? I just use kopete myself it allows me to connect to yahoo, skipe, aim and the rest with one tool. And that's included on your install cd's. If you're running KDM you'd use kopete and for gnome I think it's gaim but I'm not too sure on that one.

I haven't used any of their new features but they do look cool. The problem is that most places using linux commercially like my shop here we turn off all those features so it's just an instant messanger it can't even receive down loaded files. Sadly, in today's world there are too many bad guys looking to do random harm to allow full use of a tool like yahoo instant messanger.

I believe yahoo messager has a messager for linux. It is scaled down quite and bit and not like the windows version. It's a pretty old version that hasn't been updated in a while but it works. Kopete is a lot better.

I installed a rpm version that was supposed to be for red hat but it worked fine. I believe I had to go to mandrake control center and make a menu icon for the file that in /usr/bin . But like I said I would stick to Kopete and you will be a lot happier.

hi, u can go to yahoo messager site and download YM for redhat rpm, it will work on both mdk and RH.

mind u that YM in linux don't have as many cool features as they do in windoze...
