./install giving Permision Denied for Matlab Install. Urgent help needed.

Hi there. I've been trying to install to install Matlab in Cub Linux. When I type
Code:
./install
It's giving
Code:
bash: ./install: Permission denied
I've tried
Code:
chmod -R 777 install
That just returned me to a prompt without any errors, but running it again was unfruitful. Did all of that as root.

Something I experienced, 'install' > right click > Properties > Permissions Tab > If I check the 'Allow executing File as Program' option, it automatically gets unchecked in a fraction of a second, like the very next moment. And I've tried this with files from multiple sources

I need to use this for my college work, so please help.

I fixed the issue, I had to unzip it directly somehere in root instead of any other drive/partition ( I had it in an NTFS partition in the same HDD ).
Ciao!!!
