Install Debian R3r2 onto Sparcstation 5

I gotten this old machine Sparcstation5 and am trying
to load Debian onto it. After booting up from the 1st
installaton disk, it hangs on the stage
"Detecting Hardware to find Cd-rom drive" showing 92%
completion " Loading module"Sd_mod" for Scsi
Support".... then it just stop. Not moving

Anyone has any advise. Thanks in advance

Possibly stupid question: Did you download the versions intended for SPARC (RISC) chips rather than the standard PC version? Do its release notes indicate support for Sparcstation 5?

Yes I did. if not it will not even lets me to boot all the way till checking hardware..

Try replacing your cdrom with a newer one if you can. I had this problem 2 days ago on an old Compaq Proliant Server. When i put a new drive in, it went right thru where it was hanging with the old drive. Good luck
