importing evolution contacts

I changed distros to Mandrake 10 and tried to export my contacts from evolution. I did a "select all" on my contacts and told it to save as a vcard. I then imported the vcard on M10. Now, I see all of my contacts, but I cannot edit, delete or use them in my emails. None of them show up when I sort them with the letters on the side.

When I first imported them into M10, I had the same problem, but I was able to fix it, although I can't say how (different combinations of deleting the "contacts" folder, re-importing them, etc.). They were fine until Evolution crashed. Now I am having the same problem.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!
