I am trying to get my Japanese spouse transitioned over from Windows to Linux.

The only hting keeping her going back to Windows is the IME language interface that allows her to switch the text input from Romanized letter to japanese Kanji & Hiragana.

I am having a problem configuring the IME choices for Linux, I follow the instructions and cannot seem to get them to work.

Does nayone have a suggestion for a good IME sotware program

the objective here is to have a simple interface to swtich language(text) input methods from English Romanized letters to Japanese Hiragna/Kanji. sio she can type Japanese is Web browsers and her E-mail clients.

I use scim with anthy myself.

I have scim and thought I had set it up correctly with anthy, I just can't get it to Launch, I can't see to get it to work.
