Hi,

I am using xmms to play any music files. It works great.

For .mp3 format files, you might have to install some extra plugins.

You might also check your system volume control with "alsamixer".

I hope it helps.

Cheers

Fedora Core has got already yum pre-configured
but to make it more suitable visit
Field Commander Wieers and get known of yum
and then visit livna.

After you applied the repos. you just have to go on a console and run
Code:
yum -y xmms*    (as root)
and all of your mp3 questions are solved :-) 100%

Okay I'll do all the bloody work:
(ALL AS ROOT and internet connection established.
copy past this below to /etc/yum.conf
Code:
[main]
cachedir=/var/cache/yum
keepcache=0
debuglevel=2
logfile=/var/log/yum.log
pkgpolicy=newest
distroverpkg=redhat-release
tolerant=1
exactarch=1
obsoletes=1
gpgcheck=1
plugins=1
metadata_expire=1800

# PUT YOUR REPOS HERE OR IN separate files named file.repo
# in /etc/yum.repos.d

[atrpms]
name=Fedora Core $releasever - $basearch - ATrpms
baseurl=http://dl.atrpms.net/fc$releasever-$basearch/atrpms/stable
gpgkey=http://ATrpms.net/RPM-GPG-KEY.atrpms
gpgcheck=1
Then as next
Code:
rpm -ivh http://rpm.livna.org/livna-release-5.rpm
Next install a GUI for YUM
Code:
yum -y install yumex
then install xmms
Code:
yum install xmms*
regards
