Look on the directory

/usr/include/GL

and see if you have files *.h (gl.h, glu.h, glx.h, glut.h, and some others). If you don't have those files there you need to install the development package of mesa, mesaglu, and mesaglut, the package should be something like "mesa-devel" or "mesaglu-devel."
Install those packages and try compiling again.

WineX emulates DirectX. When you run the d2vidtest what are the options available? It should appear DirectDraw2D(HAL) and DirectDraw3D (or something similar), or it doesnt appear anything at all?

Also check on winex config file and check for lines like:

;"Desktop" = "800x600"

and make sure its commented (with a semicolon at the begining)

my full WINEX config file:

WINE REGISTRY Version 2
;; All keys relative to \\Machine\\Software\\Wine\\Wine\\Config

;; If you think it is necessary to show others your complete config for a
;; bug report, filter out empty lines and comments with
;; grep -v "^;" ~/.wine/config | grep '.'
;;
;; MS-DOS drives configuration
;;
;; Each section has the following format:
;; [Drive X]
;; "Path"="xxx" (Unix path for drive root)
;; "Type"="xxx" (supported types are 'floppy', 'hd', 'cdrom' and 'network')
;; "Label"="xxx" (drive label, at most 11 characters)
;; "Serial"="xxx" (serial number, 8 characters hexadecimal number)
;; "Filesystem"="xxx" (supported types are 'msdos'/'dos'/'fat', 'win95'/'vfat', 'unix')
;; This is the FS Wine is supposed to emulate on a certain
;; directory structure.
;; Recommended:
;; - "win95" for ext2fs, VFAT and FAT32
;; - "msdos" for FAT16 (ugly, upgrading to VFAT driver strongly recommended)
;; DON'T use "unix" unless you intend to port programs using Winelib !
;; "Device"="/dev/xx" (only if you want to allow raw device access)

Get your wallet out, give Transgaming $15, enjoy the WineX RPMs and get three months of updates, support and voting rights

I don't use RPMs so I downloaded the CVS source and gave Transgaming $15 specifically for their support. I was very dissapointed. When I asked for help I was told to post my question on the message board and the message board wasn't very helpful.
