How to install wifi drivers for Ubuntu 18.04 minimal on IBM Thinkpad T42?

The OS doesn't seem to come with the drivers by default, and currently, the only way for me to get online with the machine is via ethernet or a USB wifi adapter. How do I install the drivers for the internal device?
