Question How to INSTALL softwares with *.tar.gz or *.tar.tgz extension On SLACKWARE 10.2

Hi all,

I am new to linux, I need help to Install softwares with *.tar.gz or *.tar.tgz extension On SLACKWARE 10.2. I am using Dropline Gnome 2.12.2 ... Please, help me with some details if possible...

Also, search this forum for checkinstall. It is what a lot of people are recommending now for managing source builds in Slackware.
