does anyone know what software i should look at in order to convert a set of image files to a movie. the format can be mpeg or divx or xvid or whatever...it doesn't matter to me. a command-line tool is preferable. i looked into imagemagick, but it appears that it can only convert image files to an x-rendered movie. it can't encode a movie file. thanks for any thoughts.
thanks. i'll give mencoder a shot. i had a gut feeling that that was the way to go. but since there is no free debian package, i thought there may be better way. i'll just install from source.
i believe mencoder is packaged with Mplayer, assuming you install from source.
On a side note, as long as we have someone knowledgable with mencoder, what would be a command to convert an AVI to MPEG for the purpose of burning a dvd? THe GUI tools i have tried seem to... well... not work, but most likely because i simply dont understand all the options that i have to check or fill in.
