Oops! It didn't work here while I was testing it. I don't know why, but this procedure worked for me to run my javac executable.
Anyway, you can also do it by making a symbolic link of /etc/apacha-tomcat/bin/startup.sh to your home directory (or any other directory)
Code:
ln -s /etc/apache-tomcat/bin/startup.sh tomstart
Then u can run it the normal way.
Code:
./tomstart
