Recompile sudo so it evaluates the editor variable.
It's considered bad practice, but since this is Linux
you can choose to do silly things, too ;) While you're
at it - enable insults! :D

Ah gotcha, hehe thanks man. Today is just my cleaning day, removing alot of software from default slack 10 FULL install hehe...
Btw, i see youre on slackware too and you use fluxbox.. I use the same thing. I was wondering though, if I wanted to keep my system able to run gnome type programs, but remove the gnome desktop and all things related to it, what packages would I need to keep? So far i've removed alot, but i've kept the ones I wasnt sure I needed or not. I know libgnome and all the GTK libs i would need.

The (somewhat inconvenient) way to find that out
is to ldd all binaries that AREN'T part of the Gnome
desktop, filter the libraries list you get against the
gnome packages and remove the ones that you
find aren't required ... should be script-able, I don't
have too many gnome-based apps so I checked
them by hand.
Cheers,
Tink
