Question How to Autostart DC and Pure-ftpd??

Hello all - first post of many to come...

I finally got my ftp server running well and I would like to have several programs startup automatically when I login to GNOME. How would I go about this? The list of programs are Direct Connect, Pure-ftpd, and GAIM

I also would like to know how to create a launcher that executes a command line script. It's probably simple, but I'm very much a newbie.

For example, this is what I have to type when I want the ftp server to start:

pure-ftpd -j -P -p 65500:65535 -l puredb:/etc/pureftpd.pdb &

How would I create a shortcut on my desktop that does this for me???
