Angry Pure FTPD help

Ok,
I have GentooX Linux.
Code:
gentoox.shallax.com//
A Linksys Router (modle-BEFSR41).
And i use "KcmPureFTPd 0.9.1" for my setting and KPum (0.5.2.1) for my user's.

I installed pureftpd with this command.
Code:
tar zxvf pure-ftpd-1.0.16a.tar.gz

cd pure-ftpd-1.0.16a

./configure --with-puredb

make install-strip

cd /usr/local/sbin

pure-pwconvert >> /etc/pureftpd.passwd
My first problem is I cant make user's with kpum, i put in all the info and then hit ok and all it dose is wait for about 10 sec then gives me an error about something failed (go figure ).

all the settings are default.

The 2 problem is i cant connect from outside my router(I used Root as my user).
i forwarded ports 21 and 50000 to 51000.

Any idea's?
what i would need to set for them to "really" work?
Links to FAQ's on pureftpd?
setteting that someone else used?
A miracle?

Well, you need to forward both ports 20 and 21.
As for your users...hmmmm...I use pureftpd and I just created each user an account on the box and gave them all the same home directory. They log in with their client and enter uname and password and go right to their home directory.
Oh, also, I launch pure-ftpd with -A and -E. ie: pure-ftpd -A -E &
-A chroots everyone. (once they get to their directory, they cannot go up any levels to get to other parts of the system.) -E makes it refuse anonymous logins.
Hope this help at least a little.
