how I install properly my sound card?


Hellow everybody. How I install properly my sound card?:
lspci
00:05.0 Multimedia audio controller: nVidia Corporation: Unknown device 006b (rev a2)
00:06.0 Multimedia audio controller: nVidia Corporation: Unknown device 006a (rev a1
lspci -n
00:05.0 Class 0401: 10de:006b (rev a2)
00:06.0 Class 0401: 10de:006a (rev a1)

I am beginner in linux, linux:debian, kernel version: uname -r > 2.4.26
can somebody explain and teach me, how to install this soundcard properly?
i had soundcard instaled, but xmms doesnt record me mp3, but totem-movie do,but only some mp3,then it wrote me: <b>Totem could not play &apos;file:///mnt/e...
please help me

This depend on your card. Take a look around in Google

Maybe you need specific drivers.

for example the name of your card. The chipset . Something that could help me to look for drivers or news about it.

You could physical unmount your card and read the name on the chip.

Or if you have winzozz look at your system configuration.

Something like this.
