How do I uninstall mplayer using RPM's - Sorry New User

Hello Folks

I'm just after installing Fedora Yarrow , so i'm pretty new to this . I have managed to install mplayer on my machine but found out that its best to install the codex first so it will work properly .

I have just downloaded the latest codex and I want to install them but I need to uninstall mplayer ,

The problem is I don't know how to uninstall the RPMS , I tried rpm -e but that didn't work ..

Any Idea's

Why it didn't work?
it should be as root:

When uninstalling rpm's you don't use the .whatever.rpm at the end. Just the package name like in RockmanExe's post.

Try

rpm --rebuilddb

first. The database may not be updated.

rpm -qa will list all of them
rpm -qa | grep mplayer
will list ones for mplayer

If you have kde you might try the kpackage GUI

I think you can place them all on one line to avoid dependancies, eg:
Code:
rpm -e mplayer-common mplayer-gui
Place all the mplayer packages as the same command.
