I downloaded and installed MPlayer 1.0pre5.tar.bz2. There were alot of errors as it installed so I tried to uninstall it. It never made it into the software section of MCC so I just deleted all the directories I found. I'm still left with the following when I type "mplayer" in a terminal:

How can I get rid if this? I've tried "rm x" with no luck.

Did you try 'make uninstall' when you had the package directory in tact? You might be able to reinstall it and the use that command. The files will be the same so they should all go if uninstall works.

I deleted the directories before I realized that this was going to occur. I didn't think it installed due to all the errors. I checked in MCC for installed programs and it wasn't there so I just deleted all the directories.
