Mandrake 8.2 simply does not come with sendmail, i installed all packages except for the firewall/gateway package. where can i get sendmail to install?
i selected absolutely everything except for the firewall/gateway one, i swear to god i did.
selected to install all the packages again except for the firewall/gateway and it says it has 0mb to install, implaying that everything is already installed from those packages.
Well buddy, I will check when I get home, but I think it does come on the CD. That up there is a link to what should be on your CD. Also, you may have to do a "select individual packages" install to get it on there.

You use postfix in nearly the same way as sendmail. Postfix fits sendmail's place very good. For some extra applications allowing you to do more things, browse postfix webiste. Many interesting links.
