Sendmail ignores my sendmail smarthost entry

Hi there,

Sendmail on Linux is driving me nuts at the moment.

All I want it to do is to be able to send mail to our corp mail server. It does not have to be able to recieve mail only send it. I have tried editing the file. I have tried the system and I have used linuxconf. They all do the same thing which is to add the following line to /etc/

It will not send mail. I have several Sun systems and adding this line works with them all. Add the line, restart sendmail and you can send mail messages. I have tried the IP address instead of the name.

Is there anything anyone out there can suggest short of throwing the computer out of my 2nd story office window??
