Sendmail ignores my sendmail smarthost entry
Hi there,
Sendmail on Linux is driving me nuts at the moment.
All I want it to do is to be able to send mail to our corp mail server. It does not have to be able to recieve mail only send it. I have tried editing the sendmail.cf file. I have tried the sendmail.mc system and I have used linuxconf. They all do the same thing which is to add the following line to /etc/sendmail.cf
DSsmtphost.companyname.com
It will not send mail. I have several Sun systems and adding this line works with them all. Add the line, restart sendmail and you can send mail messages. I have tried the IP address instead of the name.
Is there anything anyone out there can suggest short of throwing the computer out of my 2nd story office window??
Thanks
Paul
