Highlight current line as you read in pdf/epub-reader?

Hi,
I do a lot of reading and taking notes.
When I leave the pdf window to take notes I struggle to see where I was.
This is annoying and leads to some frustration to always look up where I was in the text.
Now I wonder if any of you have encountered a pdf/epub-reading software where I can move the current highlihgt line as I read, preferably with vim shortcuts, j and k?

What pdf reader are you using in linux, Okular, Evince, etc.? You could extract a page or range of pages with pdftotext and save them to file or pipe them into vim for navigation and/or highlighting. Much easier of course with windows and adobe software but you work with what you have.

I have both.
Yes that would perhaps work.
Anyone with a reader suggestion feel free to add.
It would be nicer to read in a reader.
