Talking Help with iPod, and Help with dependancies

Hello. First I want to start off by saying I have a very odd experience with linux. I've gone all the way to the top. I ran Slackware fully configured before. That said, I still don't know that much. Well, I am fed up with Windows, so I needed a desktop dstro that I can get the work done with too much fooling around. So I downloaded SuSE 10. Upon doing so, I played around in VMware on Windows to get accustomed. I really like it, and am really excited to get off of my broken Windows Xp home install. Here are the two problems.
1. When I tried it natively, they iPod tool that comes with it keeps failing to connect, (It's a 5th generation iPod Video)
2. Dependancies. When installing VMware and Limewire, I keep getting dependancy issues, how exactly to I resolve them.

Thanks for your help, I can't wait to move to linux, so thanks for all of the responses.

PS. Here's my system specs:
Intel Pentium 4 2.8 GHz 400 MHz FSB 512k L2 cache.
786Mb PC2700 DDR RAM
160 GB WD Caviar/60 GB WD Caviar (Both IDE)
Intel 845GSVR Motherboard, 845 integrated graphics/sound/lan (all working)
DVD-Rom/DVD+-R/RW Dual Layer Burner Drive

I saw an application called ephpod, I guess I'll give that a shot. One question though, when I run Win4Lin Pro (Which I will purchase if I like SuSE enough to keep), will apps I install in it be able to access USB devices, so I can run iTunes.
