Having a graphical display without using kde, gnome etc

Hi

i have an graphical application that runs on Mandriva, that automatically starts up when a user is logged in. At the moment when the user logs in kde starts up and then the application is displayed. I wish to still start this application up but not using kde or gnome etc, but not sure how to at the moment, so just wondering if anyone can help me.

thank you
Tara

I had a similar question in this thread:
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...d.php?t=476671

To test it, when it boots up to command line sign in then at the command prompt type

xinit /path/to/program

It should do what you want. If it works you'll have to create a script to get it to run when he logs in.. That's what I'm working on now.
