Having a graphical display without using kde, gnome etc

Hi

i have an graphical application that runs on Mandriva, that automatically starts up when a user is logged in. At the moment when the user logs in kde starts up and then the application is displayed. I wish to still start this application up but not using kde or gnome etc, but not sure how to at the moment, so just wondering if anyone can help me. :Pengy:

thank you
Tara

I had a similar question in this thread:
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...d.php?t=476671

To test it, when it boots up to command line sign in then at the command prompt type

xinit /path/to/program

It should do what you want. If it works you'll have to create a script to get it to run when he logs in.. That's what I'm working on now.
