Has Anyone Successfully Installed HylaFAX's Source File in Linux?

I would like to know if anyone has successfully installed HylaFAX's source file in Linux, especially Ubuntu 12.04. I've no trouble in tarring the downloaded hylafax-6.0.6.tar.gz package, but don't know what to do with the errors resulting from running the ./configure command or how to interpret the ./configure.log file.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

that would be " untaring" the tarball ( tar.gz or .tgz )

well if you do not inform us as to just what these errors are .....
then we really can not help

please post the errors
and a link to this software
( If you do not tell then we can only GUESS ,we are not mind readers and do not know what YOUR errors and problems are)

is it this ?
ftp://ftp.hylafax.org/source/hylafax-6.0.6.tar.gz
???
mind you it is two years old and might NOT build using gcc 4.7 or newer
nor with NEW versions of things like postscript and libtiff

or did you grab the daily git snapshot
ftp://ftp.hylafax.org/source/hylafax-SNAPSHOT.tar.gz

or did you grab a copy from git ?
http://www.hylafax.org/content/Developers#Git

in the archive "hylafax-6.0.6"
did you read the two files " INSTALL" and "README"

post the errors you got from " ./configure"

Might want to check also if build-essential is installed also. It is not installed by default in Ubuntu I think.

Code:
apt-cache policy build-essential

JOhn VV,

I apologize for the briefness of my posting. You're right in that I wasn't interested in getting help in solving my problem; I was only interested in getting a quickie "Either/Or" answer to my posted question "Has Anyone Successfully Installed HylaFAX's Source File in Linux?". I didn't bother to post my data because I saw little point in reporting the countless lines of displayed error codes.

By the way, I am happy to report that yesterday I was able to installed the binary package of Hylafax and everything has worked out nicely per instructions from www.hylafx.org.

rockytnji,

Thanks for your suggestion. I'll try it out on my other machine when I find time. It's nice to hear from you again since my last Browser Linux and Guydog Linux postings.
