Me, I always take the path of least resistance.

If I'm offered the choice to unmount something - or NOT - I'll choose not to. Sure, technically it might be "nicer" for you to never have that option come up in the first place, but for me I couldn't be arsed to go to all the trouble of making it not show up at all.

What's a couple of extra clicks between friends?

Linux IS highly configurable. Trouble is, it's all too easy to become obsessive about it......the OS itself becomes the entire reason for having the computer in the first place, rather than being - as intended - a vehicle upon which to run useful software. And that's kinda sad.

Mike.

You should be able to create a udev role to control the ATTR{removable} for the disk. It's been a long time since I've played with udev rules. A search for "udev+rule+disk+removable" turned up https://ubuntuforums.org/archive/ind.../t-168221.html, which might be of help.

Try to disable it and let us know.

hth,
Bullseye. That did it, no more removable disk there and so no accidental eject anymore possible .

Thanks everyone, I'll mark this thread as solved.
