Hanging when exiting Xfree while ndiswrapper is installed

I know people have described this problem in other threads, but after much searching in these forums as well as others, I can't find a solution to it.

I am 100% positive that installing ndiswrapper causes Xfree to hang up when exiting. If I try to exit Xfree, reboot, or shutdown, the computer hangs and I have to push the power switch. If I uninstall ndiswrapper, everything works great.

Can someone out there tell me how to fix this problem, or point me to a thread with the fix?

Not sure which forum this goes in, so I started here ...
