GTK+ 1.2 font madness

Hi everyone.

I tried for days to change gtk1 font sizes without success.
I tried creating .gtkrc in my home directory and using gtk-theme-switch.

GTK themes DO switch, toolbars and widgests DO change, but fonts remain too little to read.

I really don't know what to do more.
Any suggestions?

Thanx

making a simple symbolic link in the home/user/.kde/Autostart folder is enough?

i think that trick is only for kde. i.e. gtk fonts usually look good in gnome cuz it's gtk based...while kde is qt based.....although do u have a similar autostart folder for ur ur window manager? btw, if ur fonts are also messed up under gnome, then i don't think this tip will work.

fonts are not messed up in gnome cause gnome uses gtk2 library and gtk2 fonts show up great.

it's GTK1 fonts that are unreadable.
