I've tried ripping MP3's with Grip, and while I find it very easy to rip in Ogg Vorbis, I have yet to rip in anything else, including MP3's (on account of my MP3 player). When looking on Freshmeat or Sourceforge, it is listed as being able to rip MP3's. How do I get MP3's (or other formats) out of it? ...or am I stuck with Ogg Vorbis? I guess in that case, Gnome mentioning MP3's with Grip in a way that suggests that you can get MP3's out may be considered a buzz word (can be called false advertising though). If it don't rip MP3's, why not say Ogg Vorbis or (in some way excluding "MP3") compressed audio?
...I would almost put money on it that someone will say that Grip can't rip MP3's because of those way huge royalty charges from the three companies that own MP3, that excludes the Motion Picture Expert Group (dispite the fact that it is the Motion Picture Expert Group 1, Layer 3. LAWSUIT! )

LAME isn't the _only_ mp3 encoder, but I'd say it's the best.
If your distro for some reason doesn't include a recent release you can get the sources and more info here http://lame.sourceforge.net/
OK, that certainly helps. ...only one problem, how do I get it? All I've seen have no download link (again, I bet from those companies ripping off the MPEG by wanting royalties for the encoders).
