Good network performance/stress test program???

I'm looking for a Linux program that will do some simple network performance/stress testing. Any suggestions?

There's a package called mz. Also not tested by me.

*edit: In first way I understood you were talking about cpu stress

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried mz, but had some trouble getting it to work on my setup.

I came across a tool called netperf which is very simple and works great. It doesn't have a ton of options but for a basic performance/stress test it does the job.

iperf is an application I use quite often.
Here's a decent site with some info.
