GNOME problem in Fedora 9

Hi Guys

I have been having problem loading my Gnome desktop, after the box booting and giving the login prompmt i enter the username and password but after that it does load the backgound then a white like small window without any message on it, though when i hit CTL+ALT+BACK SPACE i go back to the login when i choose KDE it loads after a while if i go back to GNOME it loads and works.

-The last thing i did before getting this problem i did stop sendmail and bluetooth from starting at initial boot stage level 3 and 5.

- Please help as my KDE is also hanging frequently giving me an error of KDE system crush.

-I just need my GNOME to work well then i can uninstall the KDE.

a quick a dirty fix would be to use the install dvd in rescue mode .Then after you type in chroot /mnt/sysimage and login as root ( text only)

Code:

cd /home/( your user name) 
mv .gnome .gnome_old
mv .gnome2 .gnome2_old
reboot
