gnome: panel help.

Hey all,

I've just installed Gnome 2.4.1 on Gentoo and then I did a really stupid thing.

It is really hard to explain so please bear with me.

You know when you open a program like mozilla or xmms it puts an icon on the panel and the bottom of your screen (the panel which has the "start" menu on it)? Well, mine isn't doing that anymore. NOw, when I have lots of apps open they are all in one little thing called a "Top Edge Pannel".

Is there any way I can expand this so that I can see on the panel all the windows I have open?

Pleas esomeone understand what I'm talking about

It is really annoying. It isn't going to make my system unstable or be a security threat, but it is just pissing me off!!

Thanks in advance for your help and understanding.
Hamish

Do you mean window panels? Just right click on the tool-bar go to Add to Panel--> Utility--> and near the bottom of the list there should be a couple of options you can chose from. Windows List, Window Menu, and a Workspace Switcher.
