GDM: one login per user

Hi everyone,

I configured a server running Fedora Core 3. The server allows diskless clients to connect to it using GDM.

What I didn't figure out is to allow only one connection per user. I know that gdm.conf has the configuration below:

DoubleLoginWarning=true

but all that it does is to warn the user with:

"You are already logged in. You can log in anyway or abort this login".

Is there a way to block subsequent logins from the same user, if he tries to login from another client?

Thanks,

Pastorino

Look in the manual for PAM. If you have the pam documentation installed, there is a PAM Administrators manual. Look in:/usr/share/doc/packages/pam/pdf/pam.pdf

The pam_limits module ( Section 6.12 ) has a setting in it's config file for maxlogins.

This may not be a complete solution if your system uses more than one server.
