Garnome killed my gnome

I have been wanting to update gnome and nautilus and heard Garnome was a very easy way to do so. After running through the full install I restarted X Gnome tells me a panel is already running. It doesn't ask if i want to start a new one or anything. Only option I have is "OK" and then it just sits there. I am not sure how to fix this. I removed any gnome folder from my home folder to see if there was a conflict there and that didn't seem to do anything. Any ideas?

What distro are you using some distros change gnome to suit their needs and some like Red Hat change them so much that you have to get updates from Red Hat
