Thumbs down Gaim - Missing Protocols

A installed the gaim 1.1.2 with the swaret in Slackware 10 and I noticed that I only have four protocols: IRC, NAPSTER, Gadu-Gadu and Zephyr!!! What happened with the others such ICQ, MSN? How can I solve this problem?

Try doing,
#swaret --reinstall gaim
or remove gaim using pkgtool and then install gaim again. My version from Slack current has all protocols.

This did not solve my problem!!! My gaim don't have msn and icq protocols yet!!! But it is interesting that in the usr/lib/gaim I have all the libs of the protocols!!!

maybe backup your .gaim directory and see if it works properly with a new config file.

FWIW

I had the same problem and found your thread in a search.
I used removepkg to get rid of the Slackware package,
and then installed gaim-1.1.2.tar.bz2 that I d/led from
http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/g...r.bz2?download
and now have all the protocols.

This is the first package from Slackware that has ever given
me a problem. I hope someone knows how to make a
report to Pat V. - I don't but will if someone could tell me
how-to...

Now if I could just figure out how to chat with my buddy
in Japan who uses MSN while I use ICQ with GAIM...

Well, seems Slackers aren't alone here. I'm trying out Arch, and I had the exact same problem.
