My problem is that when I'm playing mp3s in XMMS I can not hear any of the incoming/outgoing IM soudns in AIM. Is there any way you can get them both to work like in Windows when you play in winamp but AIM sounds still work. The big issue is that after the song is finished in XMMS, gAIM then sends out the incoming/outgoing sounds its been trying to while a song was playing. So basically I end up hearing like 1000 IM sounds after a song. Then when these IM sounds are playing XMMS can not play the next song in the playlist saying the sound device is in use. Does anyone have any bright ideas? This is really frustrating!!!

I do that with xmms and mplayer and it works perfectly
Set it on ESD, but no change. BTW - Where is the option in XMMS to allow two apps? I checked off "allow multiple instances" but obviously that's not what your talking about, but it was the closest I could find.
