Don't post twice so quickly, it makes you look annoying and rude. Your problem doesn't deserve any more of our attention that the other ton of new threads that are here. If you get no replies the forum will automatically bump your thread 3 times so posting again is not needed.

Run gaim from a terminal and when it crashes read the output there, it'll tell you something useful.

i am sorry for being rude man i am a complete hardcore windows user and completely new to linux stuff and i am eager to know answers..........

well the output from terminal is

Gaim has segfaulted and attempted to dump a core file.
This is a bug in the software and has happened through
no fault of your own.

It is possible that this bug is already fixed in CVS.
If you can reproduce the crash, please notify the gaim
maintainers by reporting a bug at
http://gaim.sourceforge.net/bug.php

Please make sure to specify what you were doing at the time,
and post the backtrace from the core file. If you do not know
how to get the backtrace, please get instructions at
http://gaim.sourceforge.net/gdb.php. If you need further
assistance, please IM either SeanEgn or LSchiere and
they can help you.

this is what it says....!!!!!!!!

Per the LQ Rules, please do not bump your own thread until at least 24 hours have elapsed without a reply. Because the LQ membership is global, people in other time zones may not have seen this post yet, and thus it may take some time before a response is received.

You can also run "gaim -v" in a terminal to get the version.
