Hello! When I try to use the FTP installation method, I cannot get it to connect right. I leave "host proxy" and "host port" blank because I don't need them, and the setup program reports that there's a "Bad host name"
Anyone have any idea on how to use this nifty FTP setup option? :-P
'bad hostname' errors, when you know for a fact that the hostname is good, generally mean you have a dns resolving error. check /etc/resolv.conf, make sure your nic is set up (ifconfig) or use the hosts IP.
Linux requires me to enter my DNS info for my ADSL connection. I don't see a DNS entry on the FTP setup menu, though. Keep in mind that this is an FTP Linux setup booting from a CD, and not inside of Linux.
