I'm using My Network Places in Winxp to access my website that has frontpage extensions. I don't have an actual website, though. I use my space to store files. What program could I use in Linux to access these files? I already know I can't use anything like ftp.
Oh, there's a lot more to this than just typing in those commands. I have to do something with Samba, I guess, because this was part of my output:
params.c:OpenConfFile() - Unable to open configuration file "/etc/samba/smb.conf":
No such file or directory
Can't load /etc/samba/smb.conf - run testparm to debug it
I took a look at the smb.conf, but I really don't know how to edit it. I don't want to set up a complicated server thing, I just want to access my files that have frontpage extensions. I can't use ftp on this site. Could someone help me though it?
are you able to access it at all via a browser like IE or mozilla? if so, just try that from your *nix box. otherwise, the only way i know how to access windows files from linux, and vis a vis, is via samba.
