I love CintaNotes. I have discovered it through PortableApps, and I have used it constantly. Only thing is that I need a replacement. A free replacement. This one is freeware. Worse, it’s crippleware. I actually have no need whatsoever for any of the advanced version, and use only a subset of the basic functions in the gratis version. Also, although it is gratis, tiny and portable as in PortableApps, it is not portable as in over various systems.
The functionality is beautiful in its simplicity. When I mark a section in a webpage and hit the global hotkey combination set up, it generates a new note with the title made out of the browser / webpage title, it generates a special field with the original link, if there is one, and pastes the section into the body of the note. I can later edit to add tags. And that’s about it. The note list is flat. It’s a plain list. The only option to sort the notes is by having a flat list of tags on the left side to restrict showing only notes with that particular tag. That is all. No complicated features. No dozen of dependencies. Less than one MB for the whole thing. The saving is done automatic. I can add notes by hand by hitting Ins. Its plain beauty makes it almost irreplaceable. Yet, I can’t find anything in the FOSS world that resembles it.
I can use a text editor, but that would be a pain in the rear. I have to copy three strings: selection, webpage and title. The title is usually hard to copy so you’re better writing it by hand. Than I have to find a separator, and there is no way to show only a subset of the list.
Oh, and it’s a Windows app. Probably it works under Wine as well, but it would be nice to have a native compile for Windows and Linux too.

I could, I did, and tried to help you. And your response was to be rude. Congratulations.
No you haven't.
But I'll give you a chance. Name the alternativeto entry that does paste the title, URL and selection in a new note. Otherwise, you are just a bully. 13k answers! 3 pointless, useless, just to brush your own bruised ego. Come with an answer or go away.

Sorry, you can do your own research.

...says the person who tells people to go away when they're not spoon-fed the exact answer they want. On a plus note, the list you were handed DID have web pages and descriptions for the software...FOUR of them do what you're after.
I'll now 'give you a chance' to figure out which they are.
