I'm running Mandrake 8.0 with a KDE desktop. Often when I want to start a KDE application (example Quanta), I get the following error message:

Xlib: extension "RENDER" missing on display ":0.0".

I don't know wether it's related, but the text in such applications is not at all readable.

What should I do to solve this problem ?

Many thanks.
