I updated flash yesterday, now I have sound from flash where I had no sound before.
(I am happy about that -- lots of linux users have a flash-without-sound problem.)
But now I have some keyboard input problem with flash.
Have been testing this with a Daleks game at...
http://www.bbc.co.uk/doctorwho/games/index.shtml
Before updating flash, on my SUSE 9.1 system, I could move the dalek in Mozilla but not hear anything.
Now with updated flash I can hear but I can't use the keyboard for movement in the flash game but...
the mouse works.
sound works.
most websites that use flash work properly
(of course most websites that use flash rely on the mouse rather than the keyboard)
But the game works completely properly in Opera! (newish, version 8.something).
Want I am wondering is:
Is Opera the only really flash-compliant browser in Linux?
Is it even possible to get ALL the flash functionality in other browsers? (e.g. Firefox (0.8), Mozilla, Konqueror)
At installation, for global all-user usage, Suse and/or yast and/or flash-installer have put flash files in, e.g...
/usr/lib/browser-plugins/libflashplayer.so
and linked to them in
/opt/mozilla/lib/plugins/libflashplayer.so
Strangely, this is sufficient for Opera to work flash perfectly, but it is not sufficient for Moz and Firefox.
There are no flash-related files in
/usr/lib/opera/plugins
This makes sense to me because as far as I know Opera looks for plugins in mozilla directories.
What doesn't make sense is that it works okay for Opera but not for Moz/FFox.
Any clues and info would be gratefully accepted.
