keyboard input hangs

Hello LinuxQuestions community. I've been lurking for the last week and found helpful issues on buying a nic and router, and that all went smoothly. But i do have an issue I'd appreciate help with:

Installed Redhat 9 last week on my spare p2 266mhz. ever4ything has been fine.. all of a sudden today, i boot up, and whenever i hit a key, it repeats infinitely in any application.. example: type ls in console, as soon as i hit 'l', 'l' repeats forever ..

This behavior doesnt happen when im not logged into my user account.. I can type my username and password just fine.. But as soon as im logged in, and my desktop loads up, my keyboard input goes crazy.

Any ideas on what this might be and how to fix it.

Only thing ive installed yet that is vaguely related to keyboard input/output is Opera Style mouse gestures (for Mozilla), which didnt even work. But even then, I've run fine after that install for a few days..

But now all of a sudden i have a keyboard input problem. Any ideas?
