Yes, I suggest that you give us more information .

What sound card is it? Is it using ALSA or OSS drivers? Do you have sound from it otherwise? Are you using a DE (desktop environment, such as KDE or GNOME)? If so, are you using the KDE or GNOME sound server?

What browser are you using? Is this problem global to all browsers, or just the one you use most?

You might also want to check out this thread: LinuxQuestions.org - Why can't Flash play nice with aRts like everything else? - where Linux users come for help, which might contain some pointers that would help you.

it doesnt work with mozilla. I get sound from my media players so i doubt it could be a problem with sound. I only use mozilla.

Well, it works for me in Firefox... I don't go to many Flash pages that have both sound and video, so I went specially to

http://www.benjerry.com/fun_stuff/cow_to_cone/

and watched and listened to the Flash presentation on the page.

What version of Mozilla are you using?

That's a fairly old Mozilla release (the current release is 1.6 and the nightlies are something like 1.8alpha or so-- on Windows at least).

So it would appear that this problem was fixed somewhere along the line, as Firefox is based on Moz 1.6 iirc.

You might want to consider upgrading, or switching.
